This Annual Report, Pūrongo ā-tau, explains how we helped New Zealanders to be strong, safe and independent in the year from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.

Pūrongo ā-Tau is the main means by which MSD fulfils its accountability to Parliament and the public. It describes how we have provided assistance to the people, whānau, families, iwi and communities of Aotearoa New Zealand who have needed income support, employment services, housing assistance or community-provided services. It shows how we have made progress on our outcomes and impacts, and acknowledges the challenges we have faced in achieving our aims.

Pūrongo ā-Tau also contains our full financial statements, which set out how we have managed the money Parliament gave us to provide these services.
